Free Premium MathVids Trial for your School
MathVids would like to offer your school a free trial to the MathVids Premium service, but we need your help. It is difficult for the MathVids team to contact every school principal and talk to them about the benefits of offering MathVids to their students.
That is where you come in. Just tell your principal how valuable MathVids has been for you or your child and encourage him or her to go to http://www.mathvids.com/freetrial to sign up for a free subscription for the entire school. It's that easy!
Benefits
- Help students to understand their math classes.
- Increase your school's test scores in math.
- Give your teachers a way to put their lessons and resources online so they are accessible by students.
Features
- More than 450 math videos in topics ranging from middle school through college math.
- A video library that continues to increase as videos are taught by teachers, college students, and high school students around the country (multiple videos for each lesson topic accommodates multiple learning styles).
- ALL videos are previewed for accuracy and appropriateness, rated, reviewed, and approved by a certified math teacher before they appear on the site.
- Many lessons contain resources such as video slides, worksheets, quizzes, tests, or website resources.
- Full-screen video feature convenient for showing in class.
- Videos may be downloaded to be viewed offline.
- Every video is linked to the NCTM (National Council of Teachers of Mathematics) teaching standards.
- Students are able to request a video lesson, and MathVids.com will recruit a teacher to teach the lesson as soon as possible.
Uses for Students & Teachers
- Students can view video lessons as a supplement to in-class instruction by watching them after school.
- Teachers can show videos in place of educational videos, which can be expensive and unreliable.
- Students who miss time will be able to catch up by watching a video on the topic covered the day they were absent.
- Videos can be shown to students in the classroom or in a computer lab when a substitute is needed. These can be existing lessons or lessons taught by the absent teacher.
- This very inexpensive supplement to tutoring will save families a lot of money and teachers a lot of time trying to catch students up.
Details of the Free MathVids Trial
- All students in your school will be eligible for a free premium account.
- The free trial subscription is valid through the end of June, 2009.
