Modeling problem situations with equations. Learn how to take a word problem and write an equation to solve it. Also, learn how to make up a problem given an algebraic equation.
This video gives you a good model for problem solving and coming up with an equation based on a problem. This is one of the more difficult things for students to do -- sifting through information for the important stuff and writing an equation to solve the problem. Lots of examples are included.
