Two Minute Video Contest Rules

  • Your video MUST be between 2 and 4 minutes in length.
  • You agree to allow MathVids to display or distribute your video in any way we wish. We will initially display all 2-minute contest videos in their own section, but they will then be moved to an appropriate category to be determined by us.
  • The contest winner will be the video that has the highest overall rating on August 14. You MAY create more than one entry! The sooner you create your video, the more opportunity it has of getting ratings!

Video Creation guidelines / hints:

  • The lesson may be taught using any type of presentation software available, including by not limited to SMART Board Software, Microsoft PowerPoint, or OpenOffice Presentation. Additionally, the lesson may be taught and recorded in front of a SMART Board, other interactive white board, or simply a dry erase board.
  • Once your lesson is created, you should record it using SMART Board Recorder (in the SMART Tools), Jing Screen Capture (www.jingproject.com), or any other screen capture tool. You may also choose to record yourself teaching using a digital camera.
  • Once your video file is created, head over to the MathVids upload page. The quickest and easiest method of uploading a file to us is using the Web-Based Uploader at the bottom of the screen. If you use Windows, you can also download and use the Windows Uploader to upload your file.
  • Finally, you can upload resources for your video. Simply click on the video (after it has been approved), go down to Additional Resources, and click the Add/Remove Resources button to upload a PDF, TI-Nspire document file, or PowerPoint file. You may also choose to simply add a website link that is relevant to the video. Resources will help your rating with MathVids as well as with users.
