In this lesson, we learn how to find and graph vertical and horizontal asymptotes when the degrees are equal. We start by finding the domain, which is all real numbers except for any values that would make the bottom of the function zero. This gives us our vertical asymptote, which is a dotted line. To find the horizontal asymptote, we divide the coefficients of the leading terms of the numerator and the denominator when their degrees are equal. This gives us a horizontal line that the graph will approach but never cross or touch.
