Lesson Summary:

In this lesson, you'll learn how to represent functional relationships in tabular form. A functional relationship has an input and an output, which can be represented as ordered pairs. You can list out ordered pairs or use a table, either horizontal or vertical, to display the data. To use the table, simply plug in the input to find the corresponding output, or to go backwards, use the solving process to find the input given the output. Understanding how to properly represent functional relationships in a table and how to use functional notation will make solving problems much easier.

Lesson Description:

Know and understand the rules for representing the data of a functional relationship in tabular and order pair
forms.

This lesson explains how functions can be represented in ordered pairs and in tables. This method of displaying and representing data from a function is very common and is often quite familiar to students from earlier math classes.
