In this lesson, you'll learn how to multiply matrices by hand and on a TI-Nspire graphing calculator. Multiplying matrices is done by taking rows and columns, multiplying them left to right on the first matrix and top to bottom on the second matrix. The order in which you multiply matrices matters, and the middle numbers must match for the matrices to be multiplied. The identity matrix is also introduced and is useful for multiplying matrices without changing the answer. The TI-Nspire makes matrix multiplication easier by allowing you to store matrices as variables and quickly multiplying them together.
