Lesson Summary:

The Zero Product Property is a powerful tool in solving polynomial equations in linear algebra through factoring. By creating multiplication through factoring, we can apply the Zero Product Property which tells us that if two expressions multiply to zero, then one or both of them must be zero. This allows us to solve for all possible values of x that make the equation true. Using factoring methods such as the greatest common factor method, the difference of two perfect squares, and factoring by grouping, we can find all solutions to polynomial equations with ease.

Lesson Description:

Solving polynomial equations in linear algebra through factoring, followed by the application of the Zero-Product Property (Also called the Multiplication Property of Zero).

A great explanation of the zero product property. This lesson should be the first lesson you watch if you are just learning or having any trouble with solving quadratic equations using the zero product property. You must already understand factoring, however!
