In this lesson on Parabolas, we learn about graphing parabolas in the form of f of x equals plus or minus x minus h squared plus k. The coefficient of x squared determines whether the parabola opens upward or downward. The axis of symmetry is x equals h and the vertex is h k. By using either ordered pairs or the y equals x squared method, we can graph the parabola either upward or downward. Remember, this is just one form of a parabola and there will be other forms discussed in later videos.
