In this lesson, you will learn how to solve an equation by completing the square. The first step is to ensure that the equation is in the form of x squared plus bx. Next, you find b over 2 squared and add it to both sides. Then, rewrite the equation as a perfect square and simplify it. Finally, solve for x by taking the square root of both sides and subtracting to get x equals a plus or minus the square root of b.
