Lesson Summary:

In this lesson, we learn how to simplify algebraic complex fractions using two different methods. Method one involves simplifying the numerator and denominator of the complex fraction and then multiplying the numerator by the reciprocal of the denominator. Method two involves finding the least common denominator of the fractions in the numerator and denominator, multiplying both the numerator and denominator by it, and then simplifying. These methods are used to simplify fractions with variables and numbers, making them more manageable to work with.

Lesson Description:

Part 1 showing 2 methods with examples of how to simplify algebraic complex fractions.

Several methods of simplifying complex algebraic fractions are shown and explained in this lesson. Several example problems are used to show the various methods. The examples start out with just numbers to start you off, and then it moves into variables. This topic, which can be very difficult, is made easy with the methods explained in this and the next lesson.
