This lesson shows how to get rid of fractions from a rational equation with polynomial expressions in the denominators of each term. After multiplying by the least common denominator and simplifying, a quadratic equation results. You then just have to solve the quadratic equation. This is a great tutorial for a somewhat involved problem.
