In this areas lesson, the formula for the area of a circle is reviewed as well as the areas of various composite shapes. The formula for the area of a circle is pi multiplied by the square of the radius of the circle. Additionally, the lesson covers finding the areas of parts of circles by dividing the appropriate fraction, and calculating the floor area of composite shapes made up of circles and squares. The lesson includes several examples for practice and comes with hints and answers.
