In this lesson, we learn the arithmetic of fractions with a focus on multiplication. We begin by understanding the concept of half, a third, and their corresponding values. We then learn the rule to multiply proper or improper fractions, improved version, cancel any common factors by cross canceling. Multiply the numerators. Multiply the denominators. Simplify if possible. The lesson also covers how to multiply mixed numbers by converting them to improper fractions first and then changing the result back into a mixed number. We end the lesson with some exercises that demonstrate the practical application of the concepts covered.
