Lesson Summary:

In this lesson, you will learn how to solve a one-step equation using the addition property of equality. The first step is to circle the variable, which is the value you're solving for. Then, figure out what operation is happening to the variable, which in this case is subtraction. Use the inverse or opposite operation, which is addition in this example, to get the variable alone on one side of the equation. Finally, check your answer by plugging it back into the original equation. With these steps, you'll be able to solve one-step equations with ease.
