Lesson Summary:

In this lesson, you will learn how to solve a one-step equation using multiplication on fractions. The key to this is identifying the variable you want to solve for and not doing anything to that variable. Then, you need to look at the inverse operations and determine what is happening to the variable that is preventing it from being alone. In this case, it was being divided by 10, so the inverse operation is to multiply by 10. Finally, if you are multiplying a whole number by a fraction, you need to change the whole number into a fraction and multiply across.

Solving a one step equation using multiplication on fractions

I show how to solve math problems online during live instruction in class. This is my way of providing free tutoring for the students in my class and for students anywhere in the world. Every video is a short clip that shows exactly how to solve math problems step by step. The problems are done in real time and in front of a regular classroom.
