In this lesson, you will learn how to solve a one-step equation using subtraction. The instructor provides a step-by-step process to help you easily solve more difficult problems. The key to solving equations is to get the variable by itself, and to do so, you need to undo what's happening to the variable on the same side of the equation. After subtracting 34 from both sides of the given example, you rearrange it to find that b is equal to 64.
