In this lesson, the method of finding the equation of a line passing through two points is discussed. After using the formula for slope to determine the slope, the slope point formula is used to write the equation of the line. The equation is then simplified into slope-intercept form by solving for y. To verify the accuracy of the equation, it is checked if both the points given lie on the line. Finally, the method of using y = mx + b is also demonstrated to be another way of obtaining the correct equation.
Part 2 of how to write the equation of a line if you know 2 points on the line. This is part 22 of a series of videos about graphing lines.
