Lesson Summary:

In this lesson, viewers are taught how to solve systems of equations using elimination with addition and subtraction. The elimination method involves canceling out either the X or Y variable by adding or subtracting depending on the situation. The goal is to ensure that either the X terms or the Y terms have the same coefficient. The lesson covers different scenarios and provides step-by-step examples to help students understand the concept.

This video tutorial does a great job of explaining how to eliminate a variable in a system of equations. However, not only does the video not go through and solve for the other variable, but both examples done are rather easy. No manipulation is necessary to get rid of a variable; adding or subtracting is sufficient to eliminate one of them.
