In this lesson, we learn how to write and solve an equation to find out how long it takes to complete a job. Using a work problem involving a father and son mowing a lawn, we create a chart to calculate their rates and the work they complete. By setting up the equation and solving for the son's time, we find out it takes him 66 minutes to mow the lawn alone. We also learn how to check our work to ensure the equation is correct.
