Meets NCTM Standards:
Features a TI Calculator
Lesson Summary:

In this lesson, students learn how to evaluate non-linear models numerically and symbolically. The instructor uses an example of exponential growth to demonstrate the use of Solver to find the parameters of the model function, and then evaluate the function for a given input. Students are also reminded to use the logistic function, which will be covered in the next part of Objective 3.4.

Lesson Description:

Be able to evaluate (i.e. find an output given an input) and of the three model functions both numerically and symbolically.

This lesson shows the exponential model, and explains how to enter and evaluate an exponential function on a TI graphing calculator, which is used to help model and evaluate the function. This is a good explanation of dealing with an exponential function.
