In this lesson, you will learn how to solve linear equations using the multiplication property of equality and how to clear denominators when fractions are involved. The golden rule, which means if you add, subtract, multiply or divide one side of an equation by a non-zero number, you must do the same thing to the other side in order to preserve the equation so that it still has the same solutions, is used throughout the lesson. The examples given include variables divided by a number, variables with fractions, and variables with both fractions and whole numbers.
Part 6 of Solving Linear Equations in one variable. Covers solving linear equations using the multiplication property of equality and how to clear denominators when fractions are involved.
