Lesson Summary:

In this lesson on the overview of functions, we learn that functions are a relationship or a relation between two sets. We also learn about input and output variables, domain and range, and implied domain. The importance of a unique relationship between input and output variables in a function is stressed, and we see how to identify whether or not a relationship is a function. Ultimately, we explore the significance of giving a function a name with the most common one being f, and how to evaluate a function at a numeric value.
