Lesson Summary:

In this lesson, you will learn how to find the x and y intercepts for a linear equation. The x intercept is where the line crosses the x-axis, which has a y value of 0, and the y intercept is where the line crosses the y-axis, which has an x value of 0. By plugging in 0 for the respective variable, you can solve for the intercept. This knowledge can be used to graph linear equations.

Lesson Description:

How to find the x and y intercepts for a linear equation

I show how to solve math problems online during live instruction in class. This is my way of providing free tutoring for the students in my class and for students anywhere in the world. Every video is a short clip that shows exactly how to solve math problems step by step. The problems are done in real time and in front of a regular classroom. These videos are intended to help you learn how to solve math problems, review how to solve a math problems, study for a test, or finish your homework. I post all of my videos on YouTube, but if you are looking for other ways to interact with me and my videos you can follow me on the following pages through My Blog, Twitter, or Facebook.

This lesson will show you how to find the x-intercept and y-intercept of a linear equation. It shows you how to see where intercepts are in a graph and also how to plug in 0 for y in the equation to find the x-intercept and plugging in 0 for x to find the y-intercept. All steps are shown and explained.
