At about the 4:13 mark, the teacher says it doesn't matter which one you call...y1 or y2; the teacher should note that when you name one point x1, you have to put y1 with it. So, your 2 points have to be (x1,y1) and (x2,y2).
In this lesson, the concept of finding the midpoint between two points on a Cartesian coordinate plane is thoroughly explained. The instructor shows how to find the midpoint both graphically and algebraically, and emphasizes the importance of finding the middle point horizontally and vertically. The lesson concludes with a formula for finding midpoints when only given the two coordinate points.
