Finding Zeros of a Fourth Degree Polynomial
In this lesson, the instructor explains how to find the zeros of a fourth degree polynomial. After attempting to use factoring and other methods, the instructor introduces the rational zero test to find the possible rational zeros. Then, they use synthetic division to test each possibility and find one zero. From there, they use factor by grouping to find the remaining zeros and end up with three factors. Finally, they set each factor equal to zero and solve for the zeros, finding two real zeros and two imaginary zeros.
