Lesson Summary:

In this lesson, students learn how to simplify expressions using the order of operations, also known as PEMDAS. The teacher walks through the steps of solving an example problem, demonstrating the importance of doing operations inside parentheses first, then following the order of operations by performing multiplication and division before addition and subtraction. Students are reminded to work from left to right when performing operations of the same priority. By the end of the lesson, students will have a solid understanding of how to properly evaluate expressions using the order of operations.
