Lesson Summary:

In this lesson on logarithms, Professor Perez teaches how to solve logarithm problems without a calculator. Using examples such as log base four of sixteen and log base ten of a thousand, he shows how to find the value of the exponent by which a given base must be raised to obtain a given number. He also covers how to handle negative and fractional exponents and explains why the logarithm of zero is undefined.

This lesson actually gets into some logarithm calculations (without a calculator) by using the definition of a logarithm. Some really good example problems are shown and the calculations are explained step by step. Some really great examples are chosen, such as log base 3 of 0 and log base 3 or 1, in addition to simpler logs.

I like how the lesson takes you step by step slowly enough to truly understand the information.
